Actress Lindsay Lohan has said she hopes her new film will encourage young people to engage in politics. Bobby, showing in competition at the Venice Film Festival, centres on the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy in Los Angeles in June 1968. Mean Girls star Lohan, 20, said she hoped people would be stirred by the depiction of Kennedy in the film. "For people of my generation, I think it's important to bring awareness of a great leader," she said. 'Politically engaged' Lohan is one of a large number of Hollywood stars who appear in the film, which shows the assassination from the points of view of 22 people either staying or working in the Ambassador Hotel where Kennedy was shot. The cast includes Sharon Stone, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Martin Sheen and Demi Moore. Lohan plays a young bride who is marrying the brother of her boyfriend so that he does not have to fight in the Vietnam war. "I feel I have always been somewhat politically engaged," she said. "I strongly encourage people of my age and generation to have a say and to vote, and to involve themselves in what's going on in the world, because they are living in it. "I've always been like that but I keep it to myself. It's safer that way." The actress, who made her name in a number of teen comedies, has come under scrutiny recently following media reports about her behaviour on set. Last month, Bobby co-star William H Macy reportedly said her lack of punctuality on set was "disrespectful" to the cast and crew. But director and former Brat Pack star Emilio Estevez, speaking ahead of the film's premiere in Venice, praised Lohan's "authority" in her role. "She really dug into it and was so committed," he said. "Lindsay came to this wanting to be a part of something bigger. It wasn't about just putting her name on something. William H Macy criticized Lindsay Lohan's behavior when filming the movie Bobby together earlier in the year. William said he thought Lindsay was talented but "very, very disrespectful" to her co-stars and the crew behind the film, according to Fametastic. "I think what an actor has to realize (is that) when you show up an hour late, 150 people have been scrambling to cover for you. It's nothing but disrespect. Lindsay Lohan is not the only one. A lot of actors show up late as if they're God's gift to the film. It's inexcusable, and they should have their a**es kicked", said William. "I worry about these young kids - 15, 18, 20 years old - who in the span of one year become millionaires and powerhouses. It's too much power for a kid that age to handle", added he. Been a while since I updated the site. 010 x Anglo Mania Costume Institute Gala 046 x 13th Annual Raceto Erase MS Charity Action 008 x Just My Luck Just My Luck debuted at #4 grossing only $5,500,000. It's the lowest grossing movie of Lindsay so far. Hopefully it will do better this week and next weekend, but I doubt it. The cirits don't seem to like the movie either. In this exclusive interview, her mom, Dina, talks about Lindsay's alleged drug use and bulimia, and her highly public lifestyle. Seventeen hooked me up with a preview of the cover, which you can check out here Rumour has it that Lindsay switched record labels. She went from Casablancas to Motown.
